About Us

The Kickabout Aberdeen (TKA) was formed at the height of the Covid pandemic in September 2020 under its previous name of Team Kickabout.

A chance meeting between our two founders, Dave and Paul, born about an idea of the use of football as a weekly escape for local dads, stepdads and carers. This all being for the betterment of men’s mental health.

The ability to cross the white line of a football pitch and let the trouble and stresses of life disappear is second to none. No matter the experience, ability or fitness level everyone is welcomed into the TKA family.

There are also the physical health benefits through the exercise of football along with the mental health and wellbeing.

Since the inception the name has changed but the focus hasn’t. Making the move into hosting 11-a-side charity matches and extending into a second night of Kickabouts during the week. All this has led into TKA becoming a registered charity.

We have made many friends across the past few years and through these, partnerships and sponsorship has formed. These help us to continue to provide the space for the organisation to run to the best of its ability, and further grow for the benefit of all.

After all our ethos is as our motto states,

#inittogether.
